To meet national requirements, Bellberry committees include members from each category defined in NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research, section 5.1.30

Which membership category are you interested in?*

a) Chairperson — suitable experience, including previous membership of an HREC, whose other responsibilities will not impair the HREC’s capacity to carry out its obligations under the National Statement

b) Community representative — a broad community or consumer perspective, with no paid affiliation with Bellberry

c) Professional care — current experience in the professional care or treatment of people (for example, a nurse, counsellor or allied health professional)

d) Pastoral care — a pastoral care role in a community such as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander elder or community leader, a chaplain, a minister of religion or other religious leader

e) Legal professional — a qualified lawyer, practising or not, and not engaged to advise the institution on research-related or any other matters

f) Researcher — current research experience that is relevant to the proposals considered at the meetings you would attend
